Vegetarian recipes and info
99% of dessert recipes are naturally safe for ovo-lacto vegetarians and there’s no shortage of vegan desserts either. Most people love dessert, so here are a few of my favorite sweets.
Sometimes it seems like raw foodists get short-changed in the sweet department. You need cream to make ice cream, and cakes and cookies have to be baked… right? Not according to Ani Phyo, who offers “85 easy, delectable sweets and treats” in her eponymous book.
Sure you could just buy it at the store, but homemade applesauce is one of the all-time great treats.
It’s easy to make compote: just stew up some dried fruit and enjoy it with dessert.
I love fruit cobblers, and apricots and strawberries make a particularly nice combination.
Simple, delicious, and very refreshing: frozen banana puréed into something that’s quite like ice cream, without the dairy and calories.
Berry cobbler is one of my favorite desserts of all time. It’s also lovely with a cup of tea for breakfast or a mid-afternoon snack.
Simple bread pudding is the ultimate in comfort food, not to mention a great way to use up stale bread.
