Dips are so versatile. You can keep one in the fridge for an easy snack, offer a couple at a drinks party, or serve half a dozen different ones for an informal, interesting dinner.
Avocado blended with garlic and hemp oil makes an unusual and delicious salad dressing.
A classic Middle Eastern dip made of roasted eggplant. Delicious!
Bharta is a smoked eggplant dish popular in the villages of Punjab. It is usually served with greens, bread, and lassi.
Caesar salad often comes with anchovies, which offer a salty, “oceany” flavor. This Caesar dressing uses arame (a type of seaweed) to offer a similar kind of flavor to vegetarians.
A lovely, thick eggplant dip. Great with crackers, French bread, pita bread, or crudites.
A chunky mixture of roasted eggplant and toasted walnuts that you can eat on bread or crackers.
Invented in the 1920′s in honor of William Archer’s eponymous play, green goddess dressing is brightly colored and delicious.
Is it a dip or a condiment? That depends – are you eating it as a snack with tortilla chips or on top of a sandwich or burrito? Either way, guacamole is delicious, nutritious, and – unfortunately – quite fattening.
