Pecan Pie

The richest and most delicious pecan pie you’ll ever taste.

Yield: 1 pie

Time: 65 minutes plus time to cool

Tools

  • 9-inch pie plate
  • small saucepan
  • small bowl
  • food processor

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust, unbaked
  • ½ c butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c sugar
  • ¾ c agave
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • ⅛ t salt
  • 1 c chopped pecans

Directions

Preheat oven to 425.

Arrange pie crust in the pie plate and set aside.

Over medium heat, heat the butter without stirring until it melts and turns golden brown, about 5-8 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.

Combine eggs, sugar, agave, vanilla, and salt in food processor, and blend until smooth. Add butter and blend, then add pecans, and pulse two or three times.

Pour filling into the pie crust. Bake for 12 minutes, lower oven temperature to 325, and continue baking for 40 minutes.

Remove from oven (the filling will still be a bit runny) and allow to cool completely.
