Tempeh, a cake of fermented soybeans, is much tastier than it sounds. This is my favorite way to eat it.
Yield: 2-4 servings
Time: 10 minutes
Tools
- saucepan
- spatula
Ingredients
- several T olive, peanut, or sesame oil
- 1 package (8 or 10 oz) tempeh, cut into ½ inch strips
- 2 T soy sauce
Directions
Heat the oil over medium-high heat.
Add tempeh in a single layer and fry until golden, about 3-4 minutes.
Drizzle with half of the soy sauce, turn and repeat.
Serve hot.
Notes
These crunchy sticks can be eaten plain for a snack, and they also taste great with peanut sauce or barbecue sauce.
