Sauce can make or break a recipe. You want it to be flavorful without
overpowering the rest, or delicate enough to make whatever it tops taste even
better. Here are my recipes for the best vegetarian sauces.
Alfredo Sauce
A rich and creamy Italian sauce, usually served over fettucine. It's also
delectable in spinach lasagna and with ravioli.
Apricot Cherry Compote
It's easy to make compote: just stew up some dried fruit and enjoy it with
dessert.
Barbecue Sauce This quick and easy bbq sauce will develop more flavor if you leave it in the fridge for a few days, but it's terrific when freshly-made, too.
Béchamel Sauce
This simple white sauce can be used plain, or as the base for herbs, cheese,
sun-dried tomatoes, nuts, or other additions. It can easily be made vegan using the
alternate ingredients listed.
Berry Sauce
This sweet-tart sauce is wonderful on pancakes, French
toast, and ice cream.
Cranberry Sauce What would Thanksgiving dinner be without this sweet-tart, jelly-like sauce? Fresh Tomato Sauce This summery sauce is delicious with pasta or anything else that needs a bit of
