|Directions||Place chickpeas in blender and grind for about a minute.
Sift this powder through the colander, but note that if it is too fine, the colander will also sift out the bran. If that happens, just pick out the big pieces of chickpeas and then mix the bran back into the flour.
|Notes||Chickpea flour, also known as gram flour, garbanzo flour, and besan, is commonly used in Indian cuisine. It’s also found in a variety of other recipes, including vegan French toast and socca.
You can grind chickpeas in Vitamix’s regular 64-ounce container, but if you have the dry container, it will work just a bit better.
Make other specialty flours like soy, oat, or quinoa by grinding up dry soybeans, whole oats, uncooked quinoa…. the sky’s the limit.
