Tomato Mustard Sauce

This quick and easy Italian sauce is like a spicy, slightly chunky ketchup.

Yield: ½ cup

Time: 1 hour (mostly hands off)

Tools

  • knife
  • small bowl
  • rubber spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 1 T garlic, minced
  • 1 T white, wine, or cider vinegar
  • 1 t sugar
  • ½ – 1 t salt
  • 3 T tomato paste
  • 1 T Dijon mustard

Directions

Place onion, garlic, vinegar, salt, and sugar in the bowl and mix well. Leave for an hour.

Stir in tomato and mustard, taste, and adjust seasonings.

Use immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
