Whisk together the flax seeds and water until foamy, then set aside.
Mash the beans with the oil and garlic in the other bowl. Stir in the nutritional yeast and flax seeds, then add the gluten and soy sauce and stir until completely combined.
Let sit for 15 minutes.
Heat the grill or frying pan over medium-high heat.
Stir the mixture again, then form into 4 burgers.
Grill or fry on each side 5 minutes.
