Vegetarian cookbook review
The original Moosewood Cookbook, published in 1977, was one of the bibles of vegetarian cooking, and its subsequent editions have never failed to please. The author prints and illustrates the entire cookbook by hand, which makes it feel like an old friend is sharing the recipes with me. Ms. Katzen’s friendly tone throughout the book is lovely as well. No matter what I want to make, this is always the first cookbook that I look at.
Some of my favorite recipes:
- Apricot-Almond Bread (sometimes I substitute walnuts)
- Corn Bread
- Cucumber Soup
- Lemon Mousse
- Onion Soup
- Pasta Primavera
- Ricotta Gnocchi
- Sweet Potato Pancakes
- Vegetarian Pâté
