Graham Cracker Crust Ⓥ

If you’re going to all the trouble of making homemade cheesecake, why use a pre-made crust? Just buy some graham crackers and spend a few extra minutes making your own.

Yield: 1 graham cracker crust

Time: 15 minutes

Tools

  • 9-inch pie plate
  • medium bowl
  • sturdy, tall plastic cup
  • wooden spoon

Ingredients

  • 10 oz graham crackers
  • 3 T sugar
  • 4 T margarine or coconut oil, melted
  • 1 T milk

Directions

Lightly oil the pie plate and set aside. Preheat oven to 350.

Crumble the graham crackers into the bowl, then hold the cup firmly and use the bottom to press and crush them into dust.

Stir in the sugar, then add the margarine and mix well. Mix in the milk.

Transfer crumbs to pie plate and press evenly into the sides and bottom.

Bake until firm, 8-10 minutes. Let cool, then fill with your favorite pie filling.

Notes

Vegan Pie in the SkyTo make a cookie crust, just replace the graham crackers with lemon, chocolate, or vanilla cookies. Or use half chocolate and half vanilla cookies to make a black & white crust.
