The original Moosewood Cookbook, published in 1977, was one of the bibles of vegetarian cooking, and its subsequent editions have never failed. The author hand-prints and illustrates the Moosewood, which makes me feel like an old friend is sharing the recipes with me. Ms. Katzen's friendly tone throughout the book is lovely as well - no matter what I want to make, this is always the first cookbook that I look at.
