Chocolate Malt

There’s nothing like a rich, chocolately malt. Beware – this is not for the calorie conscious!

Yield 1 serving
Time 5 minutes
  • Blender
  • 1 scoop (about ½ c) chocolate ice cream
  • 2 t malt
  • 3 T hot fudge or chocolate sauce
  • 1 c milk
  • 1-2 t espresso (liquid, not beans) – optional
  • ¼ c slivered almonds – optional
Directions Blend everything but the almonds, pour into a glass, stir in the almonds, and serve.
Notes The better quality ice cream you use, the better the shake will taste.

The hot fudge doesn’t have to be hot; When I worked in an ice cream parlor, I sometimes used the "hot" fudge before it was put into the heater – it tasted just fine.
