Fried Tofu

Fried tofu is easy to make and has a nice chewy/crunchy texture.
Yield 2 servings
Time 20 minutes
  • knife
  • paper towels
  • frying pan
  • spatula
  • 1 pound firm or extra-firm tofu, pressed and sliced or cubed
  • 2-4 T peanut or vegetable oil
Directions Heat the oil over medium-high heat, then carefully add the tofu pieces.

Fry, uncovered and undisturbed, until golden brown. This will take at least 7 minutes, so don’t check until then.

Turn each piece and repeat. Serve immediately.

Notes Fried tofu is particularly good with peanut sauce.
