Sweet and spicy barbecue sauce that can be just a little chunky or perfectly smooth.
Yield: 2 cups

- medium saucepan
- wooden spoon
- blender (optional)
Ingredients
- 1½ c ketchup
- ½ c minced onion
- ½ c brown sugar, packed
- ¼ c rice vinegar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 T Barbecue Rub
- ½ t cayenne
- ¼ t pepper
Directions
Combine everything over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Optional: let the sauce cool, then blend until smooth.
Notes
Use this to make Barbecued Seitan Ribz or Barbecued Tofu.
