vegetarian Recipe: Bread Pudding

Simple bread pudding is the ultimate in comfort food, not to mention a great way to use up stale bread.

Yield 6-8 servings
Time 45 minutes
Tools
  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • bowl
  • whisk
Ingredients
  • 3-4 c of stale white bread, cubed
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 c milk
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • ½ t salt
  • 2 t vanilla
Directions

Preheat oven to 350.

Arrange bread cubes in baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients in the bowl to make a custard, and pour over the bread.

Bake about 35 minutes, until firm but still moist. Serve warm.
