Recipe: Fresh Berry Shake
A small serving of this sweet drink is delightful after a filling lunch.
| Yield |
2 servings |
| Time |
5 minutes |
| Tools |
- Blender or food processor
|
| Ingredients |
- 2 c strawberries*
- 1 c orange juice
- 4 T cream or milk
- 2 T cream cheese, ricotta cheese, or yogurt
- 2 t sugar (or more, to taste)
|
| Directions |
Blend all of the ingredients until liquid, about 1 minute. Serve immediately. If you have to store this in the fridge, it may separate, so to revive it, stir in a bit more cream before serving.
|
| Notes |
*Strawberries are my favorite berry for this drink, but you could also try blueberries, raspberries, or whatever else tickles your fancy. If you don't like the seeds, blend the berries first, push them through a strainer, and then blend with the other ingredients. If you prefer a thicker drink, use more strawberries or less orange juice. |
