vegetarianRecipe: Croutons

Homemade croutons are a snap to make!

Yield 4-6 servings
Time 20 minutes
Tools
  • sauté or frying pan
  • wooden spoon
  • cookie sheet
Ingredients
  • 2 T butter or olive oil
  • 2 cloves minced garlic 
  • 4 slices sandwich bread or 8 slices French bread (stale is fine) cut into cubes
Directions Preheat oven to 300°F.

Melt the butter or heat the olive oil and add the garlic. Mix well, then add the cubed bread.

Sauté for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, then transfer to a cookie sheet and place in the oven for about 10 minutes, until crispy.

Notes Serve with soup, salad, or whatever else you like croutons with.
