Recipe: Fried Tempeh
Tempeh, a cake of fermented soybeans, is much tastier than it sounds.
| Yield |
2-4 servings |
| Time |
10 minutes |
| Tools |
|
| Ingredients |
- several T olive, peanut, sesame, or canola oil
- 1 package (8 or 10 oz) tempeh, cut into ½ inch strips
- 2 T soy sauce
|
| Directions |
Heat the oil over medium-high heat. When hot, add tempeh and fry until golden, about 3-4 minutes. Drizzle with half of the soy sauce, turn and repeat. Serve hot.

| Notes |
This is my favorite way to prepare tempeh. The result is a pile of crunchy sticks can be eaten plain for a snack, and that also taste great with peanut sauce or barbecue sauce. |
