Recipes: Flaxseed and Flaxseed Oil
Flaxseed is an excellent source of vegetarian nutrition (learn
more) - here
are some easy and delicious ways to incorporate it into your diet. These were
shared on the forum - if you have any other ideas, please let us
know!
| Flaxseeds |
Sprinkle flaxseeds on top of bagels, toast, cereal,
oatmeal, yogurt, soup, or salad. Stir into bread dough, pancake batter, or granola. Add to smoothies or shakes. |
| Ground flaxseed |
Egg substitute (e.g., in cake or bread): Mix 1 T ground flaxseed + ¼ c water, let sit 5 minutes, use in place of one egg. Replace 10% of the flour in bread, pancake, cookie, or cake recipes.

| Flaxseed oil |
Mix with pasta, mashed potatoes, stir fry, or
soup. Drizzle over salad in place of or mixed with olive oil. |
